1. 1

    Who gets listed

A company gets listed if it is real, has a public website, and sells something offsite builders use.

  2. 2

    How we order a category

Order is our judgment. We weigh how broad the offering is, whether it's available in the US, and how much the company documents publicly.

  3. 3

    What we don't publish

We don't publish scores, ratings or numbers we can't source.

  4. 4

    How sponsors are handled

Sponsors are marked with an Ad label. Paying never moves a company up the list.

Questions worth asking before you call

  1. What is your current lead time from order to delivery?
  2. Which states do you deliver or install in?
  3. Who handles transport, setting and site work?
  4. Can we see a finished project similar to ours?

How we write guides

Every number or factual claim in a guide links to a public source: a government agency, a code body, a trade association or reputable trade press. If we can't source something, we write it as general guidance without numbers. Each guide ends with its full source list.
